Monsters and seagulls and Japan: OH MY!

3 Oct

The Seagull and I are currently all over this book and read it cover-to-cover every night.

“Yokai Attack! The Japanese Monster Survival Guide” is by the lovely Hiroko Yoda and Matt Alt, with fabulous illustrations by Tatsuya Morino. This rocks our world more than the potential for Nick Cave to become my next babydaddy (which is, like, so possible).

Here’s a few grabs – look out for it in your bookshop, amazon or other purveyor of pulped text products. I’ll post some pics of our favourites that just have us marvelling at the wonderful authors and the random and gorgeous Japanese psyche.

BTW, check out the authors’ wonderful blog at http://altjapan.typepad.com/. or the fabulously funny website for the book: http://www.yokaiattack.com/.

P.S. when will someone do the Cthulu for Kthiddies book?

Hmm, where would one go about finding a writer with a deep interest in Cthulu…?
