Conversations at the Patti Smith Concert or, how Amoir is not suitable for public consumption

13 Oct

While waiting for Patti Smith to come on stage with the Drive-By Pasher and Empress of Eyeliner…

Drive-by Pasher: What? You don’t like name-of-former-colleague?
Amoir: Obstreporous.
Empress of Eyeliner: oh yeah…
Drive-by Pasher: Wha?
Amoir: Look, she’s a nasty little alpha terrier humping the ankle of adequacy.
Empress of Eyeliner:
Drive-by Pasher: …noooo tell oos wot you really think.

I believe I already did.

I then proceeded to sleep through the first half of Patti Smith’s performance.

Amoir: not always the best person to take out to a gig when she has a headache.

Lyrics for closing credits? Might be making this up, but were there two different songs? The “holyyyyyyy, holy and bright, star that shines so holy and bright” one, and… something else, no idea, can’t remember. Anyway, think Godaigo did that one, (or was that the Monkey Magic song?). Well, a starting point, anyways.Oh God, YOU’RE obsessed?

Let it not be said I am a river unto my people. I ended up finding these (have to include the first one because I thought Monkey was funky, not punkey):1. (b) Monkey MagicBorn from an egg on a mountain topThe punkiest monkey that ever poppedHe knew every magic trick under the sunTo tease the GodsAnd everyone and have some funMonkey magic, Monkey magic (repeat 4 times)What a cocky saucy monkey this one isAll the Gods were angeredAnd they punished himUntil he was saved by a kindly priestAnd that was the startOf their pilgrimage westMonkey magic, Monkey magic (repeat 4 times)With a little bit of monkey magicThere’ll be fireworks tonightWith a little bit of monkey magicEvery thing will be all rightBorn from an egg on a mountain topThe punkiest monkey that ever poppedHe knew every magic trick under the sunTo tease the GodsAnd everyone and have some funMonkey magic, Monkey magic (repeat 4 times)2. GandharaA long time ago when men were all babesThere was a land of the freeFantasy and dreamsWere its untouched wealthAnd goodness and love were realEach man desires to reach GandharaHis very own utopiaIn the striving, in the seeking soulMan can see GandharaIn Gandhara, GandharaThey say it was in IndiaGandhara, GandharaThe place of light GandharaThough long ago and farBeyond the winding roadAlways beyond every bendA beautiful land still waits for the fewWho make it to the very endEach man desires to reach GandharaHis very own utopiaIn the striving, in the seeking soulMan can see Gandhara(*) In Gandhara, GandharaThey say it was in IndiaGandhara, GandharaThe place of light Gandhara* repeat
